Dubai Hotels and What To Do In Dubai

Even before your flight touches Dubai mainland, you would be in awe of this place. The descending plane gives you a glimpse of this incredible city that you would be hooked long before you set foot on the land. As the city offers a whole lot of places to see and innumerable things to do, fitting everything in four days of your holiday is categorically impossible. But there are some really important things that you should definitely do during your holiday in Dubai. So, let's get started!

Things to See
There are a myriad of places you can see in this gorgeous city of Dubai. You may get overwhelmed by the long list. But with proper planning, you can definitely manage to see and enjoy some of the most important places in Dubai.

Burj Khalifa: The Burj Khalifa deserves attention and respect when it comes to the must visit places symbol of Dubai. The Burj Khalifa Tour begins at the foyer where you can view the history of Dubai and also that of the building. You can also visit the highest viewing area of the building (124th floor) by travelling on the world's fastest elevator (which travels at the rate of 10 meters per second). At the viewing deck you get to see beautiful, panoramic view of the entire city. The chances of viewing a city from such a great height may not come to you again, so do not miss it!

Dubai Creek: The Dubai Creek is a place that represents the city which existed before it became a glamour city that it is today. In short, this is a place where it all began. The Dubai Creek separates Bur Dubai from Deira and it is on the side of Bur Dubai that the Bin Yas tribe first settled. Today, Dubai Creek is a highly developed part of the city although it still carries the old world charm. Here, you can visit the Dubai Museum, Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum House, Jumeirah Mosque, Grand Mosque and several such important places. You can also enjoy the beautiful sights of the Dubai Creek while on a dhow cruise with including delicious dinner.
Dubai City Tour: Apart from Burj Khalifa and Dubai Creek, there are many other things that you should see in Dubai. Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach, the Palm Island, etc. are some of these places. If you want to view the entire city in a few hours time, going on a city bus tour would be a great idea. These city tour buses take you to the important landmarks of the city and also allow you to get off the bus if you wish to explore something that interests you. This is a great way of sightseeing in Dubai if you are here on a short trip.

Things to Do

Dubai is a place where you can experience a flurry of activities. One sure thing about this place is that you would never get bored here, whatever be your age. There is no dearth of gardens, adventure parks, theme parks, beaches, nightclubs, etc. in this wonderful place. Here are some things that would keep you entertained in this desert land.

Desert Safari: Being in the land which was once only a vast area of desert, you cannot miss the desert safari. The desert safari tour comes in various packages which include a regular desert safari trip, overnight desert safari tour and a luxurious desert safari trip. There are also desert resorts that conduct safari tours for their guests. Whichever tour you choose, you would get a taste of the life in a desert. With camel riding, dune bashing, belly dancing and henna painting, you would have a great evening. In addition to this is the dinner with all the lip-smacking Arabic or Lebanese cuisine that would give a ravishing end to your day as well as the trip.

Show Cruise Dinner: The dhow is a traditional Bedouin style boat that was used for transportation as well as travelling in the olden days in Dubai. You can still see these dhows on the creeks, lakes and canals of Dubai but not as a vehicle of transportation but mostly in the form of floating restaurants. Dhow cruise dinners are conducted both on the Dubai Creek and the Dubai Marina. These floating restaurants are decorated beautifully with lights and ooze a calm and relaxing environment. The lower deck is fully air-conditioned while the upper deck acts as an open air restaurant. Wherever you choose to sit, you can enjoy beautiful sights and mouth-watering dishes served in the buffet.
Ferrari World: Agreed that the Ferrari World is part of Abu Dhabi but you can surely assign one day or half a day for a trip to this spectacular amusement park. Situated in Yas Island, it would take you just 1.5 hours to reach the Ferrari World from Dubai. This adventure park is a proud owner of several thrilling rides. But the Formula Rossa definitely takes the price. This is the fastest roller coaster ride with a speed of 240 km/hour. Other rides you will find here include Fiorano GT Challenge, Mission Ferrari, Karting Academy, Mission Ferrari, Viaggio in Italia, etc.

Restaurants in Dubai

Dubai is unquestionably a haven for foodies. It is a place that celebrates world cuisine. So, be it Arabic, Lebanese, American, India, English, Turkish or any other cuisine, you would definitely find a restaurant that serves it to you. Moreover, there are different kinds of restaurants too. While there are many fine dine restaurants where you get to eat gourmet foods, you also have the quaint restaurants which do serve delicious food but without charging too much money.

If you want to savour traditional Arabic food, head to Gahwet Mezze. The Arabic coffee served here is absolutely mind blowing. Other than this, the Koffeecake Corner, I love F Cafe, Delhi Durbar, The Chalet, Hollywood Burger, Calicut Paragon, China Sea, etc. are some other restaurants that you ought to visit during your stay in Dubai. The city also has the popular food joints like McDonald's, Pizza Hut, KFC, etc. if you want to stick to familiar foods.

Overall, Dubai is one of the most magical places on the planet and should definitely be next on your holiday list!

How To Plan A Family Skiing Holiday

There is nothing as special as a family holiday. A family holiday is an opportunity not just to have a break but also to create memories that become part of your history. As family holidays go, there are few that can offer the variety, fun and excitement of a family skiing holiday. Some people worry that skiing may be too stressful for families but this isn't at all true. Family skiing holidays can be really joyous and stress free as long as you take one simple precaution - prepare in advance.

If you prepare properly for your skiing holiday you can have a wonderful, stress free, fun-filled time on the slopes. All the energy you put into the planning and preparation will be repaid by happy, entertained kids and relaxed, engaged adults. Doesn't that sound like a stress-free family holiday? Let's have a look at the main areas that need your attention before you go on holiday.

Where

OK first things first. Here are some questions you might ask yourself when planning your stress free family skiing holiday.

  • How long will it take to fly there?
  • Is the transfer from the airport to the resort lengthy? A long bus journey immediately after a long flight has the potential to turn the calmest family into screaming lunatics - avoid if possible!
  • Is the resort family friendly?
  • Does it have facilities for children?

However, the number one question you need to ask in advance is this - how far do we need to walk? Even if you have to compromise on other things, find a resort where the ski lift or ski school is - for preference - within easy walking distance from your accommodation. Don't forget you and your children will have to trudge around in heavy ski boots carrying skis and so you won't want to go too far. At the very least make sure that the accommodation you choose has a ski bus stop close by.

What to Bring

Realise you are going on holidays with children and plan accordingly. If you, as adults, have ever lost your gloves or your goggles or even more expensive bits of equipment then you should understand why it is that the average kid will probably lose everything not tied onto him or her!
So whenever possible - bring extras.

If your little darlings turn out to be the most careful children on the planet there'll be no harm done. You can gift wrap the extra gloves or goggles and make them as presents to the next family you know who might be planning on a skiing holiday!

On the other hand, if you don't bring any extras and instead have to replace things at the resort where, it's likely they'll be charging top dollar for everything, then you might be peeved to say the least.

So, what should you bring?

Bring comfy clothes suitable for playing and, if possible, two sets of ski clothes. A lot of the time children will end up wearing their ski clothes all day and you won't need much else - apart from pyjamas. If you don't want to buy two sets of clothes you may be able to rent some at the resort - check it out.

Woolly Tights. Even for boys. It can be very cold on the slopes and nobody need know what's on underneath...

Properly fitted gloves that will stay on and spare gloves for playing in the snow.

Waterproof footwear. Waterproof shoes and boots can be expensive and probably won't fit the kids if you go skiing again next year so maybe you can find bargains on the internet? Or even borrow some just from family or friends?

Sunglasses with high UV protection for everyone - even babies.

Sunscreen. The fact that the weather is cold in the mountains doesn't mean the sun isn't strong - it really is very, very strong and you need to buy the highest SPF you can find - and of course then you need to use it!

Toys, games, movies, books, family games - anything you think will help you entertain yourselves in the evening during your holiday.

So now you are ready for fun filledScience Articles, stress free family skiing holiday there is only one thing left to do - have fun!

Experience The Pyramids Of Egypt

From their construction throughout the centuries the Pyramids of Giza have represented mystery, wonder and awe to all. They are perhaps the only great architecture of the ancients to have survived more or less completely intact.

The oldest pyramid at Giza is the Great Pyramid of Cheops, also known as Khufu, and is the largest known pyramid in existence. It was built around 2500 BC of over two million limestone blocks, each almost three tons in weight. An astonishing achievement and is believed to be the work of around twenty thousand slave workers.

Nearby are the smaller pyramids belonging to Cheops’s son and grandson as well as the Great Sphinx, known as Abu ‘l-Hol, a half-lion, half-man figure of majestic proportions.
Each evening at dusk an enormous sound and light show is played out and, despite its rather tacky touristy nature, is a real fast-track introduction to Egyptian history. Scout through the many persistent camel drivers around the site for a decent tour of the pyramids on humpback, with the best time of day being at daybreak or sundown as these times are quieter and offer the most breathtaking atmosphere to view the pyramids in.

As perhaps the best possible example of real estate location the forty acre Mena House offers rolling views of lush parkland and beautiful gardens right on the Saharan doorstep with the pyramids as a backdrop. Before 1870 the Mena House was King Khedive Ismail’s official hunting lodge, yet today it offers serene escape from the heady tourist areas that surround the Pyramids. Featuring and eighteen hole golf course, a gorgeous swimming pool set right in the lush gardens, and a certain aire of colonial grandeur felt perhaps most on the breakfast terraceArticle Search, which Evelyn Waugh described best as being “like having the Prince of Wales at the next table”. To enjoy the Mena best choose a room in the old yet beautifully restored suites for a grand view of the Pyramids.

Top 3 Must See Attractions in Italy

You'll be spoilt for choice when you book in to any of the villas in Italy. Wherever you choose to stay, here are 3 experiences not to be missed.

For visitors to Italy, the history, colour, people, cultural diversity, and cuisine all tempt in equal measures. But it's the sort of destination that, in truth, no amount of time could do justice. There is so much to see, do, explore and discover in this wonderful country, the choice of where you rent your villas in Italy is almost overwhelming. But wherever you stay, you'll be faced with extraordinary experiences – here are just a few to consider.

The Florentine Halls
The villas in Italy in the region of Tuscany are among the most popular for tourists – and with good reason. They will place you squarely in the best place to visit the stunning Renaissance capital of the region – Florence. The cornets and edifices of the architecture of Florence have been admired for centuries, alongside the wealth of culture and art found in the city. Fine paintings, intricate sculptures and glorious buildings have been created at the hands of some of the country's most important artisans, and from the Romanesque to the Gothic, the Renaissance to Roccoco, each style needs to be seen in person to be appreciated. The Baptistery of San Giovanni, the Church of Santa Trinita, the Dome of Santa Maria del Fiore, or the Uffizi are all-important stops on any itinerary of Florence.

The Roman Streets
If Florence is known for its high culture, then Rome is testament to the culture to which high culture aspires! The Eternal City was the definition and heart of an Empire whose shadow and glory enveloped Europe for so long its remnants can still be seen today. Those who crafted the Romanesque towers, who sculpted the Gothic arches and dreamed the paradigm of the Renaissance awakening, either looked back to Rome in the spirit of imitation or competition. A stay in any of the villas in Italy within proximity of Rome will afford you the opportunity to see for yourself the collision of ages in the layers of the Empire's foundations. From the walls of the Coliseum to old bicycles reclined against pot-plants in an 18th century piazza, Rome offers sights your eyes could not enjoy anywhere else in the world.

The Sicilian Sea
The grandness of the Renaissance and the Roman Empire are hard to compete with or compare to. Yet while few European epochs, or indeed, cultures from anywhere and anytime in history, can match these two periods, a stay in one of the villas in Italy on the island of Sicily will invite you to behold a type of glory that surpasses anything forged by human hands or minds. The cascading hills, the turquoise waves, the Mediterranean breezes and the songs of seabirds are very much the essence of Sicily. The island and its surrounding sea overshadow Rome and Florence in both age and invincible beauty.

Wherever you go in this wonderful country you'll be surrounded by natural beauty, artScience Articles, culture and the essence of history – where you choose to spend the most time is up to you.
